Campsite Rules

At Twin Lakes, we don’t want to start your holiday by giving you a list of dos & don’ts but please read these rules before your arrival to ensure you are clear with the expectations of the campsite. They are displayed at reception, on the noticeboard and at the toilet & shower blocks, and are for the benefit of everyone. Failure to adhere to the rules could result in you being asked to leave the campsite. For safety information please click here

Booking Terms & Conditions

By making a booking at Twin Lakes Campsite (Twin Lakes France), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Bookings & Payments

  • All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by the campsite.

  • A booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received.

  • Customers must pay the entire cost of their stay at the time of reservation.

  • Prices are per pitch or accommodation unless stated otherwise and include standard occupancy.

  • ​

2. Arrival & Departure

  • Check-in time is from 2:00 pm.

  • Check-out time is by 10:00 am.

  • Check-in and check-out times must be respected unless otherwise agreed in advance.

  • If you expect to arrive late or be delayed, you must notify the campsite as soon as possible so that suitable arrangements can be made.

  • Guests may be required to present valid identification (such as a passport or national identity card) at check-in in order to complete legally required registration forms.

  • Twin Lakes France does not retain copies of identity documents unless required by law.

  • Failure to provide the legally required information may result in refusal of entry without refund.

  • Early arrivals or late departures may be refused or charged at the campsite’s discretion.

3. Site Rules & Behaviour

  • Twin Lakes Campsite is a family-oriented campsite.

  • Excessive noise, antisocial behaviour, aggressive, threatening, or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.

  • Guests must respect other campers, staff, and campsite property at all times.

  • The campsite reserves the right to refuse entry or require guests to leave immediately, without refund, if these rules are breached.

  • Quiet hours must be respected as displayed on site signage.

4. Group Bookings & Large Parties

  • Large parties, group bookings, or multiple units travelling together are NOT permitted unless prior direct contact has been made with the campsite and written approval has been given before arrival.

  • Failure to declare a group booking may result in refusal of entry with no refund.

  • The campsite reserves the right to limit the number of units or guests per booking.

5. Caravans, Motorhomes & Vehicles

  • Twin axle caravans and twin axle motorhomes are NOT accepted under any circumstances.

  • Guests arriving with a twin axle caravan or twin axle motorhome will be refused entry with no refund.

  • All caravans, motorhomes, and vehicles must fit entirely within the allocated pitch.

  • Only one vehicle is permitted per pitch unless otherwise agreed in advance.

  • Oversized, commercial, or unusually large motorhomes or vehicles must be declared at the time of booking and approved by the campsite prior to arrival.

  • It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure their vehicle complies with these requirements.

6. Maximum Occupancy

  • The maximum number of people permitted per pitch is 5.

  • This limit includes adults and children.

  • The maximum occupancy must not be exceeded at any time.

  • Visitors are not permitted on site without prior approval from reception.

  • Undeclared guests may result in immediate termination of the stay without refund.

7. Cancellations, Refunds & Amendments

  • If you need to cancel your stay and request a refund, you must email bookings@twinlakesfrance.com at least 48 hours before your scheduled arrival time.

  • Cancellations received within 48 hours of the scheduled arrival time are not eligible for a refund, regardless of the reason.

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before arrival will be refunded minus the booking platform’s commission.

    • Example:
      If you paid €25.00, and the booking commission is €0.63, your refund will be:
      €25.00 – €0.63 = €24.37

    • Pitchup bookings will also have their 15% commission deducted from the refund.

  • No refunds are given for early departures, late arrivals, or adverse weather conditions.

  • Booking amendments are subject to availability and may incur an administration fee.

8. Refusal of Entry & Termination of Stay

The campsite reserves the right to refuse entry or terminate a stay immediately, without refund, in the event of:

  • Breach of these Terms & Conditions

  • Undeclared group or large party bookings

  • Arrival with a twin axle caravan or twin axle motorhome

  • Refusal to provide legally required registration information

  • Threatening, aggressive, or abusive behaviour

  • Failure to comply with campsite rules or staff instructions

9. Damage & Liability

  • Guests are responsible for any damage caused by themselves or members of their party.

  • Any damage must be paid for before departure.

  • The campsite accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.

  • Guests stay at their own risk and must ensure children are supervised at all times.

10. Pets

  • Pets are only permitted where expressly allowed and must be declared at the time of booking.

  • A maximum of two (2) dogs is permitted per pitch.

  • Dogs classified as prohibited or illegal under French law are not permitted on site under any circumstances.

  • Pets must be kept under control and on a lead at all times.

  • Owners must clean up after their pets.

  • The campsite reserves the right to refuse pets that cause disturbance, pose a risk, or breach French regulations.

11. Safety

  • Guests must comply with all safety rules and signage displayed on site.

  • Use of swimming pools, lakes, and facilities is at guests’ own risk unless otherwise stated.

  • Open fires, fireworks, and unauthorised equipment are prohibited unless approved by campsite management.

12. Force Majeure

  • Twin Lakes France shall not be liable for refunds, losses, or expenses incurred if it is prevented from fulfilling a booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

  • Such circumstances include (but are not limited to): war, terrorism, riots or civil unrest, industrial action, flooding, natural disasters, epidemics, health risks, or similar events (“Force Majeure”).

  • Guests are strongly advised to have adequate holiday insurance in place.

13. Acceptance of Terms

By making a booking and/or staying at Twin Lakes Campsite (Twin Lakes France), guests confirm acceptance of these Terms & Conditions in full.

Reception/Bar

Reception is open at 9am each day in high season. If it is closed during office hours for any reason, a mobile number is displayed on the door to contact us. Emergency contact numbers are also displayed on the reception door. When you arrive please report to the reception, located at the bar, to alert us of your arrival and so we can give you a tour of the site. You are able to check-in from 2pm on your arrival day. 

​

Pitching up

Please speak to a member of the Twin Lakes team before pitching up your caravan, tent or motor home. We will show you where the water and electric hook ups are and a tour of the site where you can then make a decision of where you would like to stay. 

​

Motor vehicles

There is a 5mph/8km speed limit across the park. Car & caravan washing is not permitted on site.

​

Pets

We welcome dogs to come and stay on the campsite but they must not be left unattended in a hot vehicle, tent or motorhome during your stay and must be kept on a lead, except where stated. Please clean up after your pets and ensure it does not cause a danger or disturbance to other guests. Dogs are welcome at the bar and restaurant however if they repeatedly bark or make a disturbance we will ask you and the dog/s to leave. Twin Lakes does not take any responsibility for any dog on the campsite. The local vets in Montendre are able to complete a pet passport for your journey home.

Fishing

Fires / BBQs

No fires, fire pits, fireworks or Chinese lanterns of any kind are permitted on site. Charcoal & gas BBQs are allowed but must be raised off the ground.

​

Smoking

Smoking is permitted around the site and in the bar area. Smoking is allowed on the decking of caravans but not inside. We want to keep the site clean and tidy so we ask that you do not throw your cigarettes on the floor after you have finished. Please do not be offended if we witness you doing this and ask you to pick them up. You are not allowed to smoke in the swimming pool area. There are ash trays in all caravans, in the bar and outside the swimming pool.

Quiet time

Please be considerate of other guests and keep music and noise to a minimum. After 12pm we request quiet time across the park. We will not tolerate any persistent noise, nuisance or unruly behaviour. Anyone found to be causing a problem will be asked to leave without a refund. The Owner's decision is final. 

​

Emergencies

In the event of a fire, please evacuate to the emergency assembly point on the main camping field. In the event of discovering a fire, please raise the alarm by ringing the bells located on the fire points around the site. Emergency contact numbers are displayed in the reception door during closed hours. Please see safety information below for more details. 

​

Toilets/showers

Please supervise young children in the toilet and shower area and ensure you close the door and turn off the lights after entering/departing. The toilet blocks will be cleaned daily and may be closed temporarily at this time. We ask you to please leave the shower areas as you would hope to find them and anything left in the showers or toilets will be removed and disposed off. 

​

Waste disposal

Bins are available for the disposal of general waste and recycling. Separate bins are available for general waste, glass, plastic, paper/cardboard and tin. We have one chemical and waste disposal point located behind the disabled shower block next to the swimming pool. All guests are asked to empty their bins appropriately on their departure. If you require disposal of a large item or packaging we ask you take it to the local bin yourself. You can ask a member of the Twin Lakes team where the nearest bins are in the area.

Children's Play Area

Children must be supervised by an adult at all times whilst using the equipment. If something is deliberately broken you may be asked to pay for the repair or replacement. The gate at the entrance must is closed at all times. The play area will be open from 9am - 9pm in high season. Rules are displayed in the play area. 

​

Wi-Fi

Wifi is available for free on our camping field and in our bar. Please ask a member of staff for more information on how to connect when you arrive. 

​

Swimming Pool

There are two swimming pools. One is very deep and the other is a children's pool. Children must be supervised at all times. There is no lifeguard present at the pool. All rules for using the pool are displayed clearly around the area. Failure to follow the rules will result in you being asked to the leave the swimming pool. No food is to be consumed around the pool and smoking is prohibited.

Accidents and Emergencies

A first aid kit and defibrator can be located at reception. In case of an emergency, telephone numbers are displayed at reception. 

​

Insurance

All guests must have their own insurance. Twin Lakes will not be held responsible for theft, fire, loss or damage caused to your property. 

​

Behaviour

We expect everyone to respect each other and the area. Anyone shown to be acting inappropriately will be asked to leave immediately.

 

Drinking

The legal drinking age in France is 18. Alcohol will not be served to anyone under the age of 18. You will be asked for ID if we believe that you are under age. 

​

Departure

If you are staying in one of our caravans we ask that you vacate by 10am of your departure morning. You will be required to hand your key back to reception and all rubbish taken to the general bins.

 Fire Safety & Evacuation Instructions

Fire Prevention

  • No smoking in the forest or all wooded areas.

  • Floor level barbecues are strictly prohibited.

  • Do not obstruct access routes for emergency services.

  • Fire extinguishers are available at all times.

​

Practical Help in Case of Fire

  • Stay calm.

  • Immediately alert the campsite management.

  • Call the fire brigade (Phone 18 or 112).

  • Attempt to fight the fire only if it is safe to do so.

  • Evacuate calmly and follow the evacuation routes.

  • Gather at the designated assembly point.

  • Do not return to your pitch until authorise

 Storm Safety

  • Keep calm.

  • Secure all your equipment to avoid flying objects.

  • Shelter inside a building or caravan.

  • Avoid staying under trees, electric poles, or near water.

  • Wait until the danger has passed before going outside.

 

Thunderstorm Safety

  • Do not remain near water.

  • Avoid using electrical appliances.

  • Wait until the danger has passed before going outside.
